Al’s passing took place in Mexico and his family have been hit with a big bill to bring him home. To help the family in this terrible time Tony and friends have arranged a ‘fish-in’ to run from the 5th-8th of September 2025 which will include a bbq on the Saturday. Tickets for the weekend cost £60 with all proceeds going to the ‘bring Al home’ fund. To book your place on the weekend please text John on 07828178390 in the first instance, John will add you to the WhatsApp group which has details on how to pay etc. Places will go to people who knew Al as a priority but all are welcome.

It is with great sadness that we recently learnt of the untimely passing of long term member, bailiff and friend of the fishery ‘Big Al’ Brown. Al was one of life’s genuinely nice guys, he touched the lives of many members and helped so many achieve their dreams at the lakes. He helped shape the complex into the wonderful fishery it is today and in his honour, the Bawburgh lake island will be re-named Al’s Island. Al was a gifted angler and had an adventurous spirit, it’s hard to put into words how much he will be missed.
